Name: Ryefang
Short Description: Medium furred golden tabby with yellow eyes
Age: 20 moons
Gender: Tom
Family: Daisyfur (mother, estranged), Antstripe (father, estranged), Twigtail (brother, estranged)
Clan: Windclan
Rank: Warrior
Personality:
Ryefang is reserved, shy, and serious. Because of his hard-to-crack exterior and his own shyness, he has difficulty befriending others. However, he is fiercely loyal to those that he has. Because of his quiet personality, he is often deep in contemplation, and loves to talk about things that interest him to those he cares about. He finds great interest in the history of the clans, and loves to hear tales of old battles and great warriors of seasons past. He tends to get a little excited in regards to things he takes interest in, and he becomes much more bright and cheery when he talks about them.
Ryefang is also very driven and determined. When he sets his mind on something, he doesn’t stop until he achieves his goal. This is good in some ways, because it assures he gets what he wants, but he tends to ignore things that he needs in order to satisfy his ambition. Ryefang also has a tendency to try and work things out before he has a fully-fledged plan because he is so eager to finish things, which can lead to failure.
Ryefang likes to be with kits and apprentices because he feels that because they are young, they are much more open and accepting of others. He also thinks that they’re precious. Even though he loves them, Ryefang is unsure of how good of a mentor he would be, because he becomes embarrassed and nervous if he’s put in a situation where he has power over someone else.
History:
Ryefang is a half-clan cat, half Thunderclan, half Windclan. His father was a darkly striped ginger warrior tom named Antstripe from Thunderclan, and his mother a pretty white she-cat from Windclan named Daisyfur. Because their love was forbidden by the warrior code, his mother Daisyfur fled from her own clan while pregnant. Soon after she arrived, she gave birth to Ryekit and his brother, Twigkit. Ryekit and Twigkit both had vastly different personalities. Ryekit was more serious and reserved, while Twigkit was silly and friendly. They would often bicker at eachother, but they both cherished one another deeply. Ryekit admired his brother for being so willing to open up and be silly.
Because of their half-clan blood, they were both frequently made fun of. This took a deep toll on Ryekit and made him question whether he really belonged in Thunderclan. Due to his reserved personality, he would often spend most of his time thinking, primarily about whether he was truly a Thunderclan cat or not. As he grew older, he felt more and more that the whole clan was against him, and he could only really rely on his brother, because he was the only other one that understood him. When he became an apprentice and was named Ryepaw, he decided that Windclan was truly where he belonged. He first tried to convince his brother to run away with him to become a part of Windclan, or loners. At the very least, he wanted Twigpaw to help him leave. Twigpaw refused to help him in any way, and this wounded Ryepaw deeply. This only strengthened his desire to become a Windclan cat. He couldn’t rely on anyone from Thunderclan, not even his own kin. So, not long after he was made an apprentice, Ryepaw ran away in the night to Windclan.
Ryepaw was not so eagerly accepted as a Windclan cat, they were not as open as Thunderclan was. Ryepaw liked to think he was accepted as an apprentice out of Windclan’s kindness and understanding, but he really knew it was because they had so few apprentices at the time and were desperate. Even though Ryepaw had little competition from other apprentices, he felt a fierce desire to prove himself. If Windclan didn’t like him, then he would have to prove his worth. Ryepaw was mentored by a tabby tom named Grouseface, a stern cat who wasn’t too keen on mentoring a cat that was once a member of Thunderclan. Grouseface was not extra tough on Ryepaw, but he had his doubts about his ability to adapt to life on the moor. Grouseface was right about it being difficult for Ryepaw to get used to chasing rabbits, but he severely underestimated Ryepaw’s drive. Ryepaw devoted most of his time to training in order to be the best Windclan warrior he could, and to forget his Thunderclan life. This led to Ryepaw becoming well-rounded skill wise, doing well at both hunting and battle, but he was rather poor socially. His seriousness and extreme dedication to training made him seem rather unapproachable, and his naturally reserved attitude and overly politeness made him seem rather boring to those that tried to befriend him.
Ryepaw’s training took longer than most, because he had to learn to adapt to life on the open territory of Windclan, but he was eventually made a warrior. He was named Ryefang for his abilities in both hunting and fighting. Now, as a warrior, he is trying much harder to establish himself a place in the social hierarchy of the clan, but is finding it difficult because of his natural shyness and his hard exterior.
